Playing Catch Up! ABC Challenge-D, E, F

Hi guys!!! I'm back!!! It seems like it's been forever since I last blogged and man have I missed it! In order to catch up on my ABC Challenge I've decided to group together D,E and F. Hope ya'll don't mind! So first up D! D is for....DOTS!! Dots dots dots! I loveeeeeee dots! I think if their is one thing in the world that you can't mess up its dots! Which is great for me! HAHAHA

 

 I used NYC Lexington Lilac and Pure Ice Superstar for the white and Sally Hansen Black out for the black. I was pretty thrilled with these. They were quick and easy and still looked kinda cool even though they were horribly uneven lol I just love the lilac. I am a sucker for pastels! I am so happy spring is around the corner. Have you seen all the amazing spring lines out there? My poor wallet!


Next Up! E! This one was pretty hard. I literally only have three "E's" in my entire stash. How is that possible!? I decided to go with Essie E-nuf is E-nuf. Triple E! Whooo!

I had to add some animal print in there....beacause I just couldn't see a reason not to! HA! I had issues photographing this one. In some pictures it looked red, others it looked bright orange.  I would say it's more of a coral-y color. ;)

Finally F! I was really REALLY looking forward to doing "F" Because I won a giveaway from Llarowe awhile back and my gift was this amazing polish by Femme Fatale. It's called Glinting Loadstone and it might just be my new favorite polish. Here it is layered over Black.

Look at it! Really LOOK! It's beautiful. I was so happy to win this polish its my first Femme Fatale and judging from some of the swatches I've seen of other colors, it won't be my last! Excuse my pink cuticles. The Essie totally stained my nails. :)

Day 24- Inspired By a Game

Hi guys!

When I saw todays challenge I knew automatically what I wanted to do. I loveeeeee Checkers. I think their are few games that are more fun. Weird right? LOL Today I didn't have a lot of time so I just did a basic checkerboard design. It came out pretty well. Here it is!

Day 23 Inspired By Nature

Hi guys!

For todays challenge we were to do mani's inspired by nature. It took some thinking but then I remembered I had these! (Picture taken from Amazon)

I got these from Amazon. You get this whole set for about 5 bucks. They do take about two weeks to arrive since they are coming from China but I don't mind the wait! ;) Each little container only holds about 3-4 actual flowers you don't get THAT many. But really how often do you see yourself sticking dried flowers on your nails? LOL Especially some of those big ones. I decided to do a green gradient and then I stuck a couple of flowers on. Kinda like a little garden. hahaha

Kinda Cute huh? It reminds me of the bad Easter hats my mom used to make me wear. All I needed was a little lace and I'd be good to go! HAHA!

Day 22-Inspired by a Fabric

Hi guys!

Todays challenge was fun! Our nails had to be inspired by a fabric. I grabbed the first thing I saw and went to work! Here is what I came out with.

 My inspiration was from a tank top I bought from Old Navy last year. I really like this. It's not perfect but I think that makes it look even better.

Day 21- Merge or Melt

Hi guys!! For todays challenge we had to create a mani Merging or melting colors. The decided to try water marbling again. Every time I do water marbles I always get these unsightly air bubbles...which of couse pop as soon as I put my top coat on. This time was no exception. It drives me absolutely nuts! I haven't quite figured out what I'm doing wrong. I read somewhere it could have something to do with the angle I put my fingers in? I don't know. I really love them. Collete from My Simple Little Pleasures is AMAZING at water marbles as is Ashley From Smashley Sparkles. They inspire me so much! If you haven't checked out either of their blogs you simply must! Here is my attempt.

I love the colors. I forget the name of them but they are both made by Sally Hansen. I totally scored when I went to the .99 store a couple of days ago. These pretties were just sitting on the shelf. They were the only two and I scooped them up! hahaha  Have a wonderful day!

Day 16-Color Opposites

Day 16! Today we had to do color opposites. I choose yellow and blue.

 

 I attempted a sugar spun look. It came out....decent. ;) Sometimes my strings turned into glops lol but still kinda cute. I don't know why my picture is upside down. I've tried twice to upload the picture but it keeps flipping it. Darn Blogger!

Day 15- Watercolor

Day 15!!! Today we had to do watercolor nails. This was a first for me. I looked at a couple of tutorials and then just dived right in. Maybe next time I'll look at a couple more! hahahaha

The NEW 31 Day Challenge Day 13- Cheer Yourself Up Mani

Hi guys! A cheer yourself up Mani. Hmmmm Well this is what I came up with.

 When I think of things that make me happy; nothing makes me happier than polka dots. This is a mani that I would just stare at and smile. I love wearing blue. I think it's my favorite color to wear...after pink of course! The light blue kinda reminds me of the sky...also something that makes me smile. Please excuse my ravaged cuticles. I am in desperate need of a manicure!

Day 11 Splatter

Hi guys! For todays challenge we had to do splatter nails. YAY! I love splatter nails. I get to make a big ol' mess and call it nail art. :) I had a hard time with getting the distance between nail and straw right so sometimes I ended up with big blotches instead of splatters but I was still pretty happy with it. Here it is!

I used Sally Hansens Eel Skin (gray) Sinful Colors Boom Boom (pink) and Pure Ice Superstar (white).

The NEW 31 Day Challenge Day 9 Saran Wrap.

Hi guys! For todays challenge we had to do a saran wrap mani. This is my first time trying this technique and I think it turned out pretty decent! It's super easy and kinda hard to mess up. Which is perfect for me! Hahaha. Here is is

 

I kinda like it. For whatever reason it's not showing the blue as much as I wanted it to but oh well. I still enjoy it.

Water Marble Mani

Hi there!


Today I attempted to get a water marble right. It went pretty decently. I always seem to get air bubbles no matter what I do. Grrrr! I plan on entering this in a water marble contest over at Smashley Sparkles. I just love entering nail art contests. Even if you don't win I feel like you gain so much experience and you see so many cool designs. I always take away a ton of
 inspiration! So here's what I ended up with. The light color you see is actually grey it looks kind of blue in the first pic sorry!!!

Halloween Mani 2

Today I'm going to show you guys a Halloween mani I did for Jordana Cosmetics Nail Art Contest.

Here is my Candy Corn inspired design!

I thought it turned out kinda cute and man was it easy!

To do the spider and web I just used a Sally Hansen Nail art pen. Boy do I love those pens!

Mellow Yellow

Hi there!

Today I'm going to show you guys a simple nail design I did on my girlfriend. Now she is a no frills kinda gal. She normally likes black and white thats it! No glitters or crackles or really any designs. I have to beg and plead for her to let me do something fun to her nails. Imagine my surprise when she said she wanted yellow nails with a couple of pieces of fimo cane on them. Sounds fun to me! So here's what she got.

I used

• China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
• Sally Hansen Mellow Yellow
• Seche Vite Top Coat 

If you aren't familiar with Fimo Canes here is what they look like.

Basically they come in a stick form and using a sharp blade (I used an xacto knife) you slice off as many pieces as needed. To attach them you can stick them on a wet layer of top coat or you can use nail glue. I used the glue then put a top coat on the entire nail. It stayed in place until she got sick of them and pulled them off! ;) These particular fimo canes came from Amazon.com I paid 5.79 with free shipping for 100 of them and as you can see I got a good variety. The only negative is that they took awhile to get here as they were shipped from Hong Kong. Still if you don't mind a bit of a wait they were a good deal. I'm sure there are some on Amazon that will arrive faster but I'm a sucker for free shipping so I'm willing to wait!

Drugstore Haul pt.2

Hey there!

This weekend I hit up the dollar store looking to score some makeup wedges and cotton balls all essentials to doing your nails! ;)  Well imagine my surprise when I came across these!

First off those stripers! What an amazing deal! Those can range from 3-5 bucks EACH! Naturally I searched through those shelves until I found every color I wanted. I even doubled up some of them.  Next Sally Hansens Complete Salon Manicure polishes. They had quite a few but only these two really caught my eye! $1 what a steal! Finally these mini bottles of glitter. Yay! who doesn't love glitter and again only a dollar! $10 and some change total. STEAL! That's all for now. Ciao!

Drugstore Haul pt.1

Hi there!

It's been awhile since my first post. Sorry! I've been shopping a lot lately. All of these collections coming out I'm trying to keep up! Today I'm going to show you some stuff I've purchased recently; most of which were pretty cheap! Yay! I'm going to separate the haul posts into two so it won't be too picture heavy! ;)


First off I went to Walgreens looking for Wet N Wilds party rock collection. No luck! But! I came across Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure Line and guess what!!!? It was on clearance for $1.99!!!!!!! Can you believe that! $1.99! Usually it runs about $8-9 bucks! I hear that they are re releasing the line so I guess thats why it's so cheap but I love a bargain so I picked up a few. I plan on going back for more this week.

Whew! So that was all of my Walgreens haul. I am in love with Essies Leading Ladies collection. I want every single color and I've decided that I'll buy one each week until I have them all! And those Sally Hansen Colors are wonderful! I had no problems with any of them. They went on smooth and opaque. Gotta love it! I got all of these colors for about 20 bucks. Can't beat that! My next post I will show you some stuff I found at the Dollar Store! Until then.. Ciao!

Newbie Here!

Well after a lot of urging and confidence boosting I've finally decided to get started on this nail blogging journey. I can't promise to be great but I can promise to keep trying. I truly love doing my nails and I love interacting with fellow nail lovers. I welcome all tips and suggestions. Tomorrow or perhaps later if I get some free time I'll properly introduce myself.
