Hi guys! I was recently contacted by the lovely Kristin from Northern Star Polish to review a couple of polishes and an cuticle oil from her upcoming winter collection.
A little about Northern Star Polish.. She has been making polishes since 2012. She uses Cruelty free ingredients and they are Big 4 free. She also tests all her glitters and pigments for months before using them and all her polishes go through a holding a testing period before she releases them for sale. I love the care and quality control that goes into her polishes. Far too often you see indie makers just releasing polishes without making sure the quality is good.
I am very very excited to show you what she sent so lets get started!
First up is her "Super Elf Cuticle Oil".
This was a yummy sweet smelling oil, that left my cuticles looking pretty nice. I did about 8 swatches that day and I used this cuticle oil between each mani. My cuticles looked awesome! What I loved most about this cuticle oil is the way it was bottled. It was in a bottle with a wand that a lip gloss would come in. I personally have never seen an cuticle oil packaged that way so it was pretty cool. The brush was the perfect size and SO easy to use. I get nervous using cuticle oil around my freshly painted nails; But this one was very user friendly. I think the slant tip helped me guide it where I wanted it to go. It also got bonus points for not being too greasy! I can't stand when an oil makes my fingers look like I dipped them a bacon grease! LOL!
The ingredients are: olive oil, almond oil, grapeseed oil and fragrance.
Onto the polishes!
Glittering Charade is a green jelly with holo and green and teal matte glitter.
Ohhhhhh see the holo!?
Such a pretty polish. It kinda looks closer to blue in the pictures but it is definitely green. But not an in your face green if that makes sense. This was two coats with a coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri.
The second polish I have to show is my new favorite polish. Yummy Plummy is a gorgeous purple jelly packed with linear holographic glitter.
How pretty is this!?!!! I'm already a sucker for a purple but a purple jelly holo? I am in LOVE! This is two coats with a coat of Sally Hansen Insta Dri.
These polishes and cuticle oil will be released on November 4. I can't wait to see what else she is releasing. I have a feeling my wishlist is about to get bigger! :)
Which was your favorite?
