ABC Challenge- C

Hi guys!

"C" is for..... China Glaze, Concrete Catwalk and Cruella!

I am in LOVE with todays mani! For the letter C I did one of my favorite China Glaze polishes, Concrete Catwalk and on top of it I added a layer of Glitzologys Cruella. Here it is!

What do you think!!? I'm a big fan of greys and I think Concrete Catwalk is the best! See ya next week for "D"

Day 24- Inspired By a Game

Hi guys!

When I saw todays challenge I knew automatically what I wanted to do. I loveeeeee Checkers. I think their are few games that are more fun. Weird right? LOL Today I didn't have a lot of time so I just did a basic checkerboard design. It came out pretty well. Here it is!

I used:
Sinful Colors- Ruby Ruby
Sally Hansen-Black Out

Have a lovely day!

Day 23 Inspired By Nature

Hi guys!

For todays challenge we were to do mani's inspired by nature. It took some thinking but then I remembered I had these! (Picture taken from Amazon)

I got these from Amazon. You get this whole set for about 5 bucks. They do take about two weeks to arrive since they are coming from China but I don't mind the wait! ;) Each little container only holds about 3-4 actual flowers you don't get THAT many. But really how often do you see yourself sticking dried flowers on your nails? LOL Especially some of those big ones. I decided to do a green gradient and then I stuck a couple of flowers on. Kinda like a little garden. hahaha

Kinda Cute huh? It reminds me of the bad Easter hats my mom used to make me wear. All I needed was a little lace and I'd be good to go! HAHA!

I Used:
Sinful Colors- Exotic Green (dark)
Sally Hansen- Grass Slipper (light)

Have a great day!

Day 22-Inspired by a Fabric

Hi guys!

Todays challenge was fun! Our nails had to be inspired by a fabric. I grabbed the first thing I saw and went to work! Here is what I came out with.

My inspiration was from a tank top I bought from Old Navy last year. I really like this. It's not perfect but I think that makes it look even better.

I used:
Nicole By O.P.I- Ladies In the Limelight (Yellow)
Orly- Shockwave (Dark Blue)
Sally Hansen- Himalayan Blue (Light Blue)
Sally Hansen - Eel Skin (Grey)

Hope you enjoy. I am so excited to see everyones designs!

Day 21- Merge or Melt

Hi guys!! For todays challenge we had to create a mani Merging or melting colors. The decided to try water marbling again. Every time I do water marbles I always get these unsightly air bubbles...which of couse pop as soon as I put my top coat on. This time was no exception. It drives me absolutely nuts! I haven't quite figured out what I'm doing wrong. I read somewhere it could have something to do with the angle I put my fingers in? I don't know. I really love them. Collete from My Simple Little Pleasures is AMAZING at water marbles as is Ashley From Smashley Sparkles. They inspire me so much! If you haven't checked out either of their blogs you simply must! Here is my attempt.

I love the colors. I forget the name of them but they are both made by Sally Hansen. I totally scored when I went to the .99 store a couple of days ago. These pretties were just sitting on the shelf. They were the only two and I scooped them up! hahaha  Have a wonderful day!

Day 20- Texture

Hi guys!

20 days down! Can you believe it? So for todays challenge we had to do a mani that had some kind of texture. So I decided to try out flocking... it's official. I hate flocking! That damn stuff got everywhere! It was in the air, in my mouth, up my nose and I only used a little! I hate it. I bought a set of like 12 colors on Ebay and I have a feeling that it's going to be given away during a future giveaway! :)

I originally wanted to make black lines with the flocking powder so I used my striping tape to section off the spots where I wanted the black..unfortunately after the first nail I realized that it was becoming a hot mess...and a little vulgar looking lol so I just did the whole one nail in black and I was done! Hahahaha I don't know if you can see the yellow lines on my nails..that was were the striping tape was. Why it's yellow I have no idea. :) Anyways. I look forward to seeing all the textured nails out there. See ya tomorrow!

ABC Challenge-B

Hi guys!

B is for..... Blue Ivy! Blue Ivy is made by Jindie Nails and is one of the most gorgeous holographic polish I've seen!!!! Here it is!

Ahh I love it! I recently bought my first polishes from Jindie Nails and I have SO many more on my wish list. In person Blue Ivy is even better! Everytime I type I have to pause for a moment because my nails keep catching my eye. LOL I could stare at them all day!

Can't wait to see what the other ladies have done!

Wanna join in on the ABC Challenge? Go Here! It's not to late!

Day 19- Your Favorite Polish

Hi guys!

Todays Challenge is an easy one. We needed to do a mani using our favorite polish. I knew Immediately I wanted to use China Glaze For Audrey. I absolutely adore this polish. It was one of the first China Glaze polishes I bought. When I first saw a swatch of it on Pinterest I knew that it had to be mine!

It's such a perfect Tiffany Blue. The best part about this polish is that it complements so many different skin tones. I don't think I've ever seen this color look bad on someone. Love it! Of course I couldn't leave it alone so I had to add some polka dots. :)
Have a lovely Saturday!

Day 18- Your Oldest Untried

Hi guys!!! It's Friday! Whoo! I am off today and I don't go back to work until Tuesday! I love a four day weekend! :) Plenty of nail painting time. Hahahaha For todays challenge we were supposed to use our oldest untried. I'll be honest I've got A LOT of untrieds. HAHA Since I'm fairly new to the nail community I have been building my collection and I only have so many nails! I have no idea what my oldest untried is so I just picked a couple. I also wanted to try this technique I saw floating around Facebook. It's a new take on a French Manicure and I thought it looked so cool and it still looked classy like a regular French Mani.

I used
Finger Paints- Go Van Gogh!
Tip Top Nails- Eureka

I kinda loved this! I can see so many color possibilities and I think it would look perfect for a date night or something formal. So there it is. Two untried polishes and an untried technique. :) Have a wonderful Friday!

Day 17- A New Technique To You

Hi guys! For todays challenge we had to do a technique that was new to us. I choose Half Moons. Here's what I did.

MEH! The moons came out a lot better than I've ever done. But I'm not completely happy with the color combo. Too dark I think.. Anyways I used Pure Ice Black and Color Clubs Glitter Wonderland. Funny story about the Color Club. So I'm painting my nails and we are all familiar with the smells of fingernail polish...but the smell I was smelling was completely different. It smelled like whipped cream vodka (Which is delicious). I sniff my nails and realize it's them! hahahaha I totally didn't realize the Color Club winter collection was scented! I hated the smell though. I picked up a few from Sallys, I wonder what the rest smell like!

Day 16-Color Opposites

Day 16! Today we had to do color opposites. I choose yellow and blue.

I attempted a sugar spun look. It came out....decent. ;) Sometimes my strings turned into glops lol but still kinda cute. I don't know why my picture is upside down. I've tried twice to upload the picture but it keeps flipping it. Darn Blogger!

I used
Pure Ice-Superstar (base)
Sally Hansen- Himalayan Blue
Sally Hansen- Mellow Yellow

Have a wonderful day!

Day 15- Watercolor

Day 15!!! Today we had to do watercolor nails. This was a first for me. I looked at a couple of tutorials and then just dived right in. Maybe next time I'll look at a couple more! hahahaha

I kinda liked it.

I used
Sinful Colors-Snow Me White (base)
Orly-Decoded
Sally Hansen-Eel skin
Sally Hansen-Black Out
O.P.I- Baby it's Coal Outside

I think i'll try this over one day. I like the technique. Can't wait to see all the lovely designs! Everyone is so talented. :)

Day 14....Freaking Stamping!!

*Sigh* Stamping sucks....really really sucks.  I am over it. Someone teach me!!! I am only posting these because I am not afraid to make fun of myself. AND so hopefully someone will see how pitiful my stamping is and want to help me. LOL

Blue fingers random splotches of stamping but I do enjoy the color combo and once someone teaches me the proper way to stamp I will be retrying this one! A couple of days later I decided to try this stamp thing again... once the blue faded from my fingers! ;)

And then this happened.......... I started with a white and purple gradient. Which was really pretty by itself. Then I tried to stamp the zebra print on; only because the original stamp I wanted weren't working (hummingbird). So then I get this zebra print weird-ness that only kinda works because its zebra print...and zebra print really isn't perfect..right? THEN I decided that it didn't look crappy enough so I decided to add some damn glitter on top...because glitter is always pretty!  Well...it didn't help. And that pinky? I don't even know. *hangs head shamefully* So there it is...Day 14.

What am I doing wrong??!!! I have one plate from  Vivid Lacquer and the rest were in this salon express kit. I'm not really sure what a good quality plate is. So I don't know if it's the plates or not! As for the stamper itself I just use the one that came in the salon express kit. The black is from Sinful Colors. Advice?

The NEW 31 Day Challenge Day 13- Cheer Yourself Up Mani

Hi guys! A cheer yourself up Mani. Hmmmm Well this is what I came up with.

When I think of things that make me happy; nothing makes me happier than polka dots. This is a mani that I would just stare at and smile. I love wearing blue. I think it's my favorite color to wear...after pink of course! The light blue kinda reminds me of the sky...also something that makes me smile. Please excuse my ravaged cuticles. I am in desperate need of a manicure!

I used
  •  Sinful Colors-Why Not (dark)
  • Sally Hansen- Himalayan Blue (light)
Hope you enjoy!

Indies Galore!

Hi guys. 2nd posting of the day whoo! I wanted to take a break from all the challenge postings and share all the nail mail I've been getting recently. I have been a busy busy girl!

Ahhhh I am in heaven!!

First up Glitzology!

This is my 3rd order from Glitzology. Stacy makes such beautiful polishes! I have about 12 of them and she just released 3 new colors! She is always having sales and I just can't help taking part in each one! hahaha

For my six new ones I chose (left-right)

  • Robots in Love
  • Little Red Corvet
  • Nebula
  • Diamonds and Pearls
  • Snow Day
  • Purple Rain
Here's a back shot

Gorgeous!

Next up Jindie Nails! I have been waiting for Jens shop to open back up for so long! I saw a couple of swatches on a blog somewhere and I fell in love. So when her shop came back up I immediately ordered 3 polishes!
I picked
  •  Put A Ring On It
  • Silent Night
  • Blue Ivy
I am most excited to try out Silent Night. I love the stars!

Next up Vivid Lacquer!
My first good stamping plate! I stink at stamping. I think it was just my plates. I'm so excited to see if I do better with a good plate.

Finally Daring Digits! I had a bit of an issue with this order. She accidentally sent me the wrong one. But she was so kind about it. She allowed me to keep the wrong polish and sent me the polish I wanted. And it was full sized even though I originally ordered all mini's. Such great customer service! Those big companies have a lot to learn from these small businesses. Anyways here is what I got!

I originally ordered
  • Ice-Rainbow Flakie
  • True Love (gold)
  • First Love (pink)
I was accidentally sent Labor of Love (blue). I love all these polishes! They are beautiful. I cannot wait to try them all out.
That pink is going to be perfect for Valentines Day! :)

Thats all for now. Since we are moving I'm on a no buy until we are settled in. I don't want any packages to get lost in the mail. *snif* all these sales I keep seeing are making me so sad!

The NEW 31 Day Challenge Day 12 Tape

Hi guys! Happy Saturday. I hope you all have fun plans for the weekend. We are in the process of moving. NO fun! And on top of that we are dealing with our rambunctious puppy who just got neutered. Trying to keep a 6month old puppy calm is a joke! Anyways for todays challenge we had to do a tape mani. I kept it simple. I had just got my Julep box (post to come later) so I grabbed one of the polishes (Fiona) and China Glaze Mahogany Magic and came out with this.

It kinda reminds me of an Andes Mint (my fave candy) I used striping tape to get the lines as crisp as possible. Which reminds me I need to order new tape! I don't know if my tape is cheap or what but I had such a hard time getting the tape to continue sticking after a few minutes. It was so frustrating!

See you tomorrow for a Mani that cheers me up!

A is for....

Hi guys! As I mentioned before I am taking part in the ABC challenge hosted by Kimbers Lacquer Korner. Todays letter is A. I chose to use Zoyas Aurora from the Ornate Collection.  I love this shade of purple. It is absolutely gorgeous.

I have a bit of a nail fail to show you guys today. When I first saw this challenge the first thing I thought of for the letter "A" was Acid Wash Nails. There is a great tutorial Here. So I'm looking at this tutorial and I say to myself this looks super easy. Paint a layer of blue, let it dry, paint a layer of white, let it dry then take a Q-tip soaked in acetone and lightly rub the white off until you get the look you are going for. SIMPLE right? Welllllll here's what I got.

*Sigh* I don't know what happened!  It definitely wasn't what I was going for.  I'll have to redo this one in the future. Until then me and Acid Wash are on a break from each other. ;)

I've got an idea for "B" next week. Hope it goes a bit smoother than "A"!!

Check out all the lovely ladies participating in this challenge.

Day 11 Splatter

Hi guys! For todays challenge we had to do splatter nails. YAY! I love splatter nails. I get to make a big ol' mess and call it nail art. :) I had a hard time with getting the distance between nail and straw right so sometimes I ended up with big blotches instead of splatters but I was still pretty happy with it. Here it is!

I used Sally Hansens Eel Skin (gray) Sinful Colors Boom Boom (pink) and Pure Ice Superstar (white).

I can't wait to see what all the other participants came up with. Ciao!

Day 10! Whooo!

Well It's day 10 of the challenge! I am so proud of myself for sticking to it. I am loving this challenge! It's makes me think and try things that I haven't. I feel like I am growing...and it's only been 10 days! Imagine how I'll feel on day 31! For todays challenge we had to do Geometric nails. Now my biggest issue with today is lines. I cannot for the life of me get my lines straight. It has plagued me all my life. When I was in school I would hate to write on anything but lined paper. If I didn't have a line to follow I kid you not my words would slowly but surely creep upwards. Imagine these lines were words. It would go like this _ _ _ _ / . Terrible I know. I knew my lines were gonna be interesting today but hey. We can't all be perfect right?

Not so bad! My lines are...decent. Varying widths and angles...but I think it works! Here's another shot...Not gonna lie I was playing with my cameras settings. This photography thing is difficult.

Here are the bottle shots.
Sinful Colors- Ruby Ruby (red)
Sinful Colors-Amethyst (purple)
Sinful Colors-Why Not (blue)

Hope you enjoy!

The NEW 31 Day Challenge Day 9 Saran Wrap.

Hi guys! For todays challenge we had to do a saran wrap mani. This is my first time trying this technique and I think it turned out pretty decent! It's super easy and kinda hard to mess up. Which is perfect for me! Hahaha. Here is is

I kinda like it. For whatever reason it's not showing the blue as much as I wanted it to but oh well. I still enjoy it.

I used:

China Glaze Strong Adhesion Base Coat
China Glaze For Audrey
Sally Hansen Eel Skin
Seche Vite Top Coat.

Stay tuned for another posting this time for my ABC challenge!

New Challenge!!

Hey guys! Call me crazy but i've decided to take on another challenge! Thats right I'll be taking part in the ABC challenge hosted by Kimber's Lacquer Korner. Each week we will post a Mani whose name, brand or style of nail art begins with the corresponding letter. I'm very excited! Wish me luck! Wanna join it? Head here!

Ciao!!

The NEW 31 Day Challenge Day 8-Flakies!

I was pretty excited about todays challenge. I think Flakies are amazing to look at! I scored Color Clubs Snow Flakes  from Sallys for about 2 bucks and I've been itching to try it. Here it is.

Isn't it just beautiful?!! Literally I was mesmerized by these nails! haha Each angle is like looking at something new. It's going to make me so sad to take these off. :( I wanted to see how this would look matted so I tried that as well.

Kinda interesting huh? It made the flakes look even cooler! Though I still think I prefer the glossy version. All in all what a fun mani! Tomorrow should be interesting I've never tried the saran wrap technique. Could be the best thing ever....or could be a big, huge gigantic fail! Either way see ya then!

Ciao!
